Fixing a Huggie Earring that Won’t Snap Tightly Closed

Huggie Earring with Snap Hinge Closure

Huggie earrings for girls are hoops with a snap hinge closure. Girls love them because they are fashionable and comfortable to wear. They click into place and offer that lovely small hoop look which are a nice change from stud earrings. Over time however, a huggie earring can become loose by failing to click into place as tightly as it used to. If that is the case, it’s time for an adjustment, and we’re going to teach you how to do an easy self-fix and solve the problem!

Take the earring in the open position and gently use your thumb to push up on the curved post. If you do this gently, you will ever so slightly push the curved post upwards and you will find that the earring will close again with a tighter “click.” If you find that you cannot get the earring to close, you may have pushed the curved piece up too much. Try pushing on it ever so slightly to move it downwards a bit. Then try to snap the earring closed. You can adjust the curved post down or up until you hear it click into the locking mode tightly. This small adjustment, from time to time, will keep your huggie earrings tight and working like new. We hope The Jewelry Vine was able to help you figure out how to fix a huggie earring that won’t snap tightly closed!
